Ok, so we all know I’ve been bursting with excitement about this trip since I started writing this – and since it was booked last year – but now with only 18 days to go I’m officially allowed to be excited 🙂
Cases are now packed – mostly – with a few little bits that we need to get. That’s the excuse for packing early ladies by the way, it’s so you have plenty of time to buy things if you realise you’ve forgotten when you’re packing. In my case it was pants for my other half, I don’t think he would’ve been best pleased if we got there and he had 6 pairs to last him 2 weeks. I managed to con him into Disneybounding so he now has a VERY cool Pinocchio outfit complete with an amazing ‘Real Boy’ hat from www.cakeworthystore.com – who I highly recommend for bounding stuff its really good and shipping is really fast. and seriously how cool is this hat…
So now we have Dopey, Pinocchio and Minnie Mouse 🙂 Glad to see everyone is getting into the spirit of it now 🙂
ESTAs and Insurance were done today as well so we are all pretty much ready to go.
I’ve also conned my other half into doing the Universal Superstar Breakfast, I’ve heard mixed reviews on this one but I think the chance to have breakfast with a Minion should outweigh anything else!!
I don’t know how long this has been going on but I only found out about it last week!! Everyone should know that adults can’t dress up as characters in the parks but finally there is a way around this!!
Called ‘Disney Bounding’ it’s a way to dress as a character without actually dressing like them and risking being chucked out of Disney.
Basically the idea is to wear an outfit inspired by a character rather than an exact replica. For example to be Snow White you could wear some yellow shorts, dark blue top and a red cardigan, for Peter Pan you could just wear a green skater dress or playsuit. These are easy ones, I am not very creative.
Bounding does make for some amazing photos though, there’s loads online but being as I’m looking at Snow White ones to do myself this gives you a good idea of what you could do
There’s some really good sites with bounding info on but this is the best one I’ve found DisneyBound. I absolutely LOVE this idea and I now have less than 90 days to come up with some cool outfits. Snow White is a given I think and pretty easy to do but how do I be Dopey without a hat? I’m so tempted to pick a character a day and make myself some outfits, however being that I’m crap at thinking of these things help would be much appreciated 🙂
This is me today…. double digit dance
I’m now looking at what rides I need to book FastPass for being that they can be used alongside the DAS card and deciding what days to do what parks. I’m determined to do MK at night some of the extra magic hours during our stay stop at 2am so I’m looking forward to being there in the dark and experiencing it at night 🙂
So today I decided to find out a little bit more about Disneys Magical Express and find out if it is actually magical or just a regular ol’ bus.
For those of you who don’t know what on earth I’m talking about. Disney’s Magical Express is what you’ll be travelling in from the airport if you’re staying on resort from Disney and have booked transfers.
The buses pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. Apparently I hear your luggage ‘magically’ turns up in your room as well (although I have been advised this can take a little while so it’s best to keep it with you if you can)
The million dollar question is, is it magical? Well yes and no…. I was disappointed to find that there is no characters on it with you (so that picture above is a bit misleading) BUT you are treated to Disney cartoons and videos about the resort so in a way it does start your holiday off in a magical way. I’m hoping for Disney music as well with a whole bus of people singing along but we shall see….
I’m very nearly at my double digits now – little bit excited and look what arrived this morning…
I can honestly say its one of the very few Disney movies I’ve not seen all the way through so today is a day of Disney movies and adding some more info to my Magic Kingdom page so have a look there for some hints and tips and keep checking back for updates…
102 days to go today…. and this arrived this morning…
Would you believe that I’ve never actually seen it all the way through.. It’s one of those films I know all the songs to but I’ve never seen it. So today is a day of Disney movies and adding some more info to my Magic Kingdom page so take a look for some hints and tips and keep checking back for more updates.
103 days to go and today I ordered this awesome book to give me some more tips on Disney. There’s been a few editions of this and the new one isn’t out until the end of the month but I can’t wait to get it. I’ve just found a Hidden Mickeys one as well so I might just have to get that one too.
I’m currently at my 104 day countdown – nearly time to do the double digit dance….
I’m doing different things and finding out about stuff all the time so I thought I’d keep a diary and let you all know what I’ve done and how far in advance you can plan things 🙂
We’re all getting more and more excited by the day. This trip we’ll be staying at Disneys All Star Music resort a first for me staying on resort, I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to not cry when I’m told ‘Welcome Home’ when I get to my hotel!
All our tickets have been booked and arrived a few weeks ago, we used Attraction Tickets Direct this time after a lot of recommendations. All the tickets are real tickets, no vouchers well priced and arrived quickly. They also have freebies all the time when you book tickets, we got free airboat rides with ours but it changes all the time. Check them out Attraction Tickets Direct
As well as Disney and Universal we’ve also booked the Dolphin Swim at Discovery Cove and a Penguin Encounter at SeaWorld.
I’ve had the My Disney Experience App on my phone for a while and all tickets are linked up to that so I can make fastpass and dining reservations on it. It’s a really useful tool with Park Maps, Wait Times etc as well as the ability to make bookings. It also lets you customise your Magic Bands. For those staying on Resort Dining Reservations can be made 180 days before you go and FastPasses 90 days before you go. We’ve already booked for Chef Mickeys and Sanaa which looks incredible.
It’s a bit early but the case is in the office and it’s slowly being packed with things I’ve bought just for the holiday and I’ve started my healthy eating regime trying to lose at least a stone before we go so I can pig out when we get there!! Lets see how that one works out….
